People are multifaceted. A person can have more than 1 talent; more than 1 passion. Learn a new language or a new skill. But in a society where we work 9-5 shifts 5 days of the week and use the other 2 days to catch up on our sleep schedules and personal lives, when do we, if ever, cultivate the rest of ourselves?
I don’t think life is as short as people make it out to be. I just think we spend the grand majority of it doing things that we don’t enjoy.

I have to wonder how many NRA members would shriek if the Federal Government passed a law requiring all gun owners to participate monthly in a government-run militia. And if it was worded right? They would have no Constitutional right to complain. To me, that sounds like the best method of handling gun ownership. Currently, gun ownership is a “right” but a lazy right. How many gun owners don’t regularly use their guns? Keep them in a forgotten closet or the like in case of emergency? So let’s require all gun owners to belong to government-run militias as dictated in the Constitution. The militias will include physical exercise regimens, gun safety and protocol, target practice, and the like. Oh, and a gun buyback program so that anyone who doesn’t want to belong to the militia can opt out by no longer owning a gun.
Customer Service Stripped Bare
(I have a line of three customers on my register. Customer #1 is a good looking man in his early twenties. Customers #2 and #3 are elderly women.)
Me: “Your total is $15.87.”
Customer #1: “Do you take credit card?”
Me: “Yes, just push the top button and slide your card through.”
(Customer #1 pushes the button and slides his card, but does it the wrong way. I am bagging his items, so I don’t see this until he has tried three times.)
Me: “Strip down, facing me.”
(Customer #1 blushes, and I immediately realize what I’ve just said. I’m about to apologize to the elderly ladies for being risqué when…)
Customer #2: “Yeah, honey, show us what you’ve got!”
